The Brentford Women’s football team kicked off their season in style with a stunning 5-1 victory against Leatherhead. The match saw new striker Cheatley shining bright, scoring an impressive hat-trick within just 13 minutes!

Cheatley, who previously played for Ashford Town, showed her speed right from the start. She put Brentford ahead just six minutes into the game by breezing past a Leatherhead defender and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom corner. Moments later, she curled a shot into the top right corner after cutting inside from the left.

Brentford’s onslaught continued when defender Englehard netted a goal, striking a powerful volley following a corner clearance to extend the lead to 4-0. The Bees dominated the first half, leaving Leatherhead struggling to keep up.

Cheatley nearly added to her tally several times, hitting the woodwork three times in addition to her hat-trick. In the second half, she had another chance to score but her shot was expertly saved by the Leatherhead keeper.

Logie was awarded a penalty in the 56th minute after being brought down in the box. However, her kick was saved. Undeterred, she found the net just a few minutes later with a fantastic finish, making it 5-0 for Brentford.

Leatherhead finally got on the scoreboard when they converted a corner, with Ava Devenport’s header sneaking over the line. Despite that, Brentford maintained control over the final moments of the match, cruising to a comfortable victory.

Brentford’s head coach, Karleigh Osborne, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, praising their sharpness in front of goal during the first 20 minutes of the game.
