British Columbia Commemorates Earth Day with Environmental Commitment

British Columbia, on Earth Day, marked by signing the Gaayhllxid • Gḭhlagalgang ‘Rising Tide’ Haida Title Lands Agreement between the Province of B.C. and the Council of the Haida Nation in HlGaagilda.
British Columbia Premier David Eby issued a statement stressing the importance of preserving the environment for future generations and highlighting the need for increased climate action.
Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, George Heyman, outlined the government’s initiatives such as the CleanBC Roadmap to 2030, the Plastics Action Plan, and the Clean Coast Clean Waters Initiative to combat climate change.
Eby and Heyman emphasized the government’s focus on reducing emissions, investing in clean energy projects, and promoting sustainable practices in the province.
