Broncos Star Reece Walsh Refutes Reports Of Record Breaking Deal Amid Club Crisis

Brisbane Broncos standout player Reece Walsh has taken to social media to deny recent speculations surrounding his future with the club amidst an ongoing crisis.

Contrary to reports suggesting Walsh had agreed to a lucrative five-year, $5.5 million contract, making him the youngest player in NRL history to secure a million-dollar annual salary, the young star dismissed these claims on his Instagram account.

In a post featuring him and his daughter, Walsh captioned, «Don’t believe everything you read. No deal has been signed,» casting doubt on the rumored mega-deal.

Walsh, who is currently sidelined due to a facial fracture sustained during a match against Penrith, further emphasized his stance with another social media post declaring, «I’m doin me. I’ll let you know when something happens.»

Amidst the uncertainty, the Broncos have recently secured key members of their spine, with five-eighth Ezra Mam and forwards Pat Carrigan and Payne Haas committing to long-term contracts at the club, paving the way for a promising future at Red Hill.

If Walsh decides to extend his stay with Brisbane, he would join Mam in bolstering the team’s core for the foreseeable future, bringing stability and talent to the lineup.

While the touted deal could potentially alleviate some of the pressure on the struggling Broncos, Walsh’s public rebuttal indicates that negotiations may still be ongoing behind the scenes, adding an element of intrigue to the situation.
