The normally reliable Paisley outfit faced a tough day at Pittodrie, leaking three soft goals and returning home without any points.

Unhappy manager Stephen Robinson expressed that the team only had themselves to blame for the defeat. He noted that while they performed decently, they made crucial mistakes that cost them the game.

Robinson explained, «I felt we were in total control of the whole game. We only had ourselves to blame for losing. We were in control of the ball for the first two goals.»

He criticized the team’s defense, saying, «We lose a corner from a throw-in for the first one. Then we didn’t defend the corner as we intended, two of our players ran into each other and then Ellery falls over a bit because of that. That’s disappointing and preventable.» He emphasized that all three goals were avoidable mistakes.

Looking forward, Robinson stated, “We have to put it to bed but we also have to learn from our mistakes. We’re usually very good at defending, especially from set pieces.” He took full responsibility for the defensive errors.

As the team prepares for their trip to Norway to face SK Brann, Robinson called for improvement. “We have to be better than we were in the first leg. We got a terrific result but our performance was poor.”

He acknowledged that even with changes in the squad, the issues stemmed from poor decisions on the pitch. “My subs didn’t have the impact they have had in recent weeks. Sometimes you get it right, sometimes you don’t.”

Robinson remains hopeful that captain Mark O’Hara and Alex Gogic will be fit for their upcoming game, as Gogic took a knock during the match at Aberdeen.
