Bulldogs Eyeing Top Four Finish
The Bulldogs are on a roll, and their coach, Cameron Ciraldo, believes they have what it takes to secure a spot in the top four as they approach the finals for the first time since 2016.
Recently, the Bulldogs clinched their fourth consecutive win, defeating the Dolphins 30-10. With this win, they’re sitting in fifth place, having dominated the field by winning nine of their last eleven games.
Although their chances for a top-four finish look promising, Ciraldo is keeping his feet on the ground. He mentioned, “it’s not really in our control,» but he allowed himself to dream a little, stating, “I think we’re capable of being a top four team.» He emphasized there’s still room for improvement to match the top contenders.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Bulldogs’ game is their defense, which once again showed strength by not allowing any points in the second half against the Dolphins. Ciraldo praised his team’s fitness level and recognized the hard work of the coaching staff in preparing the players for these challenges.
Ciraldo also disclosed a fun fact: it was the seventh time this season they kept their opponents scoreless in the second half. He credited their improving defensive record to the dedication of their coaches, Chad Randall and Luke Vella.
On the offensive side, the Bulldogs have been lighting up the scoreboard recently, averaging 30 points per game over the last month. According to Ciraldo, they’ve made some adjustments to fit their new players better, as they started the season with 10 fresh faces on the team.
Stephen Crichton, one of the new players, highlighted that their improved performance comes from better connections among teammates. He noted how the players were initially hesitant and needed time to build trust and communication on the field.
Looking back at their pre-season training, both Ciraldo and Crichton expressed uncertainty about what to expect as they began working together. Despite their doubts, they recognized signs of potential during their training sessions, where the team showed commitment and effort, signaling good things ahead.
