In an exciting clash at Jubilee Stadium, the Canterbury Bulldogs secured a solid 28-10 victory over the St George Illawarra Dragons. This win has kept their hopes alive for a possible home semi-final.

However, the match wasn’t just about the scoreline; it saw some late drama when Bulldogs captain Stephen Crichton accused Dragons five-eighth Kyle Flanagan of biting him during the game. The claim was made right after the final whistle, raising eyebrows among fans and commentators.

According to ABC Sport reporter Michael Carayannis, footage from the game indicates an incident where Crichton was on top of Flanagan, leading to allegations that Flanagan bit Crichton’s nose, causing noticeable bleeding.

Aside from the biting controversy, the match also saw Dragons forward Hame Sele rushed to the hospital after experiencing an irregular heartbeat during the game. He left the field unassisted in the 21st minute and received immediate medical attention from team staff.

The Bulldogs got off to a strong start with Matt Burton scoring an intercept try right in the fourth minute. They never looked back, maintaining their lead throughout the game.

Bronson Xerri’s first-half double put the Bulldogs in a commanding position at halftime with a score of 20-10. The second half saw a tight competition, but the Bulldogs managed to keep the Dragons scoreless.

Kurt Mann added a try for the Dragons in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap. Following this, Burton kicked for goal and extended the Bulldogs’ lead by 18 points with just minutes left.

Although the Dragons needed a last-minute push, they fell short, leaving the Bulldogs to celebrate a well-deserved victory amid the post-match controversies.
