Canada Day Celebrations at Couchiching Beach Park Bring Fun for the Whole Family
Canada Day celebrations at Couchiching Beach Park in Orillia are in full swing, offering a diverse range of activities for families to enjoy on this special national holiday.
The festivities kicked off with the arrival of a vibrant midway, drawing crowds of locals and visitors alike, set to continue throughout the weekend.
On Monday, visitors can fuel up for the day’s events with a delicious breakfast of pancakes, locally sourced maple syrup, and Tim Horton’s coffee served in the charming pavilion inside the Terry Fox Circle.
To add to the excitement, local artisans and vendors will be showcasing their wares in the Terry Fox Circle, providing an excellent opportunity to support the community’s talent and businesses.
A highlight of the day will be the unveiling of the annual Canada Day cake, a delightful tradition courtesy of Mariposa Market, offered for free at the pavilion by the government dock.
The morning will see the commencement of the Wheelie Great Parade, encouraging participants to decorate their bikes, trikes, and more before parading around the Terry Fox Circle, spreading joy and patriotism.
Families with children can look forward to a plethora of activities, including inflatables, arts and crafts, and engaging demonstrations, all designed to keep the little ones entertained throughout the day.
The main Canada Day parade will march proudly from City Hall, weaving through the streets of Orillia before culminating at the northern entrance of Couchiching Beach Park.
Live music performances will grace the park throughout the day, featuring talented acts such as Signature 11, Daniel Bazinet, Boomer Babies, and Jakob Pearce, ensuring a festive atmosphere for attendees to enjoy.
The day will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night sky, offering a dazzling end to the celebratory events at Couchiching Beach Park.
