Residents of Prince Edward Island are gearing up to celebrate Canada Day on July 1, a day filled with festivities and closures among businesses across the Island. In preparation for the holiday, various services and stores will have adjusted hours to mark the celebration of our nation’s birthday.
Among the closures for July 1st are well-known establishments such as the Beer Store, LCBO, and several retail outlets in Renfrew including Metro, Giant Tiger, Walmart, and Chris and Tanya’s No Frills. Additionally, Aikenhead’s Drug Store will be closed for the holiday, while Rexall will remain open with limited hours from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On Canada Day, residents should be aware that there will be no mail delivery services, and the local post offices will also be closed. Furthermore, chartered banks will not be operating on the public holiday. Municipal facilities like Town Hall and the Renfrew Public Library may have limited services or remain closed throughout the day to commemorate the occasion.
In Ma-te-Way Park, the myFM Centre will be partially open to accommodate visitors enjoying Canada Day festivities. Access to certain areas such as the reception office, fitness centre, walking track, dog park, and specific parking lots will be restricted during the celebrations.
