Cavaliers’ Jarrett Allen Ruled Out for Game 7 Due to Rib Injury
Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen was ruled out for Game 7 against the Orlando Magic due to a lingering rib injury that has sidelined him for the third straight game in the series.
Allen, a key player for the Cavs, had been averaging 17.0 points and 13.8 rebounds per game in the series before the injury forced him to sit out.
Coach J.B. Bickerstaff had expressed uncertainty about Allen’s availability before the game, citing mobility issues that made it difficult for the 6-foot-11 center to play effectively.
The Cavs announced that Allen has been dealing with bruised ribs, likely sustained in Game 4 of the series.
Despite his absence, Allen had been eager to make up for his performance in last year’s playoffs and had been a standout performer for Cleveland during the regular season.
Allen, who averaged a career-high 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds this season, was acquired by the Cavs from the Brooklyn Nets four years ago
