CeeDee Lamb Expected to Play in Week 11 Despite Back Injury
The Dallas Cowboys are facing another bout of injury concerns as wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who was a late addition to the injury report, is expected to play in Week 11 against the Houston Texans. According to NFL Network‘s Jane Slater, a team source indicated that «everything right now is pointing for him to play.»
Lamb, who sustained a back injury during a 7-on-7 drill on Saturday, was subsequently marked as a limited participant in practice and was listed as questionable for the upcoming Monday night game. Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy commented on Lamb’s condition, saying, «He had something pop up in a 7-on-7 drill. We’ll look at him [on Sunday], but I’m not of high concern.»
The expected return of Lamb is a relief for the Cowboys, who are dealing with injuries to several key players. Quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the season, and the team has also been without pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence, who missed four games due to an ankle injury, and tight end Blake Jarwin, who is on injured reserve with a foot issue.
In the current season, within nine games, Lamb has recorded 59 receptions for 681 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Cowboys in these categories. The Cowboys currently hold a 3-6 record and are scheduled to face the Texans, who stand at 6-4, at AT&T Stadium at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday.
The Cowboys’ Vice President Stephen Jones expressed optimism regarding Lamb’s participation in the crucial game, stating, «We feel really good about it that he’s gonna be able to play tonight.» Jones’ comments echo the general confidence within the Cowboys organization about Lamb’s availability.
As the Cowboys prepare for the match, Lamb’s status will remain a focal point for fans and analysts, particularly due to his pivotal role as the team’s primary receiver. The team’s reliance on Lamb is underscored by the fact that he leads the Cowboys with 681 receiving yards this season.
