Celebrating Love and Devotion on Hariyali Teej 2024
Today, families across northern and western India are coming together to celebrate the beautiful festival of Hariyali Teej. This special occasion, dedicated to the deep love and bond between husbands and wives, is observed during the Shukla Paksha Tritiya in the month of Shravana.
On this day, married women observe a fast, praying for the well-being of their husbands. They worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, seeking their blessings for happiness and prosperity in their married life. Unmarried women also participate in the festivities, hoping to find a partner like Lord Shiva.
According to the Gregorian calendar, Hariyali Teej is being celebrated today, August 7, 2024. The festival is especially popular in states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, where vibrant rituals and traditions add to the day’s joy.
As part of the celebrations, heartfelt wishes are exchanged among loved ones. Some families share beautiful messages like, “Wishing you a joyful and prosperous Hariyali Teej this year!” and “May this festival bring lots of prosperity to you and your family.”
This year, the Tritiya Tithi began yesterday at 7:52 PM and will continue until 10:05 PM today, allowing plenty of time for worship and celebration.
