The Los Angeles Chargers made a hometown pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, selecting USC wide receiver Brenden Rice with the 225th overall pick. Rice, the son of NFL great Jerry Rice, brings a legacy of excellence to the Chargers.

Joining a wide receiver group that includes Joshua Palmer, Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis, Simi Fehoko, and Ladd McConkey, Rice adds depth and talent to the mix.

A former Second-Team All-Pac-12 honoree, the 22-year-old Rice boasts a record of 84 career catches for 1,402 yards and 16 touchdowns during his college career at USC. He started his journey at Colorado before transferring to USC.

Scouted by Lance Zierlein, Rice has drawn comparisons to Titans receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, showcasing potential to make an impact in the NFL with his strong build and skills.

With experience catching passes from quarterbacks like Caleb Williams, Rice looks to make an immediate impact in Los Angeles and contribute to the Chargers’ receiving corps as they continue to rebuild and strengthen their team.
