Charlotte Hornets Vs Detroit Pistons

The Charlotte Hornets are looking to end a two-game losing streak as they return to the Spectrum Center, hosting the Detroit Pistons, an improved rival in the Eastern Conference. The Hornets face this challenge while also dealing with key injuries affecting their lineup.

Miles Bridges, who recently came back from a knee injury earlier than expected, will be sidelined again as a precaution. His status will be re-evaluated in the near future. Alongside Bridges, the Hornets are without centers Mark Williams and Nick Richards, further limiting their frontcourt options.

Moussa Diabaté will take to the court for his first start of the season, stepping in at the center position. Known for his defensive capabilities and rebounding prowess, Diabaté has been averaging 3.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks over slightly more than 16 minutes per game. His increased role is due to Nick Richards’ absence, who is sidelined with a rib fracture.

Diabaté recently impressed in a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, where he scored 12 points, secured 14 rebounds, and recorded three blocks in a narrow 115-114 victory. His performance was particularly crucial in maintaining a competitive stance in the first half of the game, with a significant contribution of 10 offensive rebounds.

As of now, both the Hornets and Pistons have announced their starting lineups for the evening. For the Hornets, the lineup features LaMelo Ball, Josh Green, Brandon Miller, Grant Williams, and Moussa Diabaté. Meanwhile, the Pistons will start with Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Tim Hardaway Jr., Tobias Harris, and Jalen Duren.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. EST and will be available for streaming on FanDuel Sports Network Southeast, offering fans an opportunity to watch the Hornets attempt to overcome their recent challenges and secure a win at home.
