Chelsea Eyes Samu Omorodion as Gallagher Set for Atletico Move
Chelsea FC is reportedly keen on signing young forward Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid. The club has been in discussions about a potential £30 million transfer to strengthen their attack.
This interest in Omorodion is happening independently of another deal involving Conor Gallagher, who is expected to make a move to Atletico Madrid as well. Chelsea has suggested to Gallagher that it may be time for him to find a new club.
Gallagher had hoped to stay with Chelsea but was disappointed by the club’s two-year contract offer, which included an option for another year. Meanwhile, Omorodion had a successful loan stint at Alaves, and he’s also made an impression in the Spanish national under-21 team.
Omorodion was part of Spain’s squad in the recent Olympic Games, where he scored against Egypt during the group stage. Several other clubs including Roma and Napoli are also showing interest in the talented 20-year-old.
Since joining Atletico in August 2023 under a five-year contract, Omorodion was sent to play on loan at Granada, where he netted eight goals in 34 LaLiga appearances.
