Gymnast Simone Biles is set to return to the Olympics, with her husband, Jonathan Owens, receiving permission from the Chicago Bears to attend her events live.

Biles secured her spot at the Paris Games by winning the U.S. Olympic Trials recently. In an interview, Biles revealed that the Bears have granted Owens a brief leave from training camp to support her.

The couple, who have been together since 2020 and married last year, will experience their first major international event together. The strict regulations during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics prevented Owens from being present.

Owens, who signed a two-year deal with the Bears this offseason after a stint with the Green Bay Packers, played four seasons with the Houston Texans.

The Chicago Bears veterans are scheduled to report for training camp on July 19 as they gear up for the Hall of Fame Game against the Houston Texans in Canton, Ohio, on August 1.

The U.S. women’s gymnastics team has qualifying events on July 28, with the team final on July 30. The all-around final, where Biles is expected to shine, is slated for August 1.

Expressing their excitement to support each other, Biles mentioned, ‘Anytime we can show up for one another in support, we just get super excited because our schedules don’t align that much.’
