Clemson Vs Radford Basketball

In a commanding performance, Clemson University‘s basketball team secured a decisive victory against Radford University with a final score of 79-51 on Thursday night. The game took place as part of the Sunshine Slam at Clemson’s home court in South Carolina.

Chauncey Wiggins was a standout for Clemson, scoring 16 points, while Dillon Hunter added a career-high 15 points to the team’s total. Clemson’s Ian Schieffelin contributed 14 points and nine rebounds, further solidifying Clemson’s strong performance. Schieffelin is notable for averaging at least 11.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, making him one of only five players nationwide to maintain such statistics.

Despite Radford’s efforts, including Zion Walker leading his team with 10 points, the team struggled throughout the game, especially in the second half where they missed 15 of their first 18 shots. This resulted in Clemson opening up a significant lead, making it 60-37 with just under six minutes remaining in the match.

The game saw Clemson leading 38-26 at halftime, thanks in part to Wiggins’ 10 points from the first half alone. Radford’s field performance was marred by poor shooting, completing just 9 of 28 attempts, including a mere 1 of 8 from three-point range. Radford concluded the game with a field goal percentage of 31%.

The victory marks a promising trajectory for Clemson, improving their record to 4-1. Following this win, Clemson will travel to Daytona Beach, Florida, to face San Francisco in the Sunshine Slam on Monday. Similarly, Radford, now with a 4-2 record, heads to Florida for a match against Chicago State as part of the Ocean Division of the tournament.
