A CNN spokesperson confirmed that the video had been doctored and added that Chalian did not speculate about alternative Democratic candidates during the broadcast.

Chalian’s actual comments on a pre-debate poll were unrelated to Michelle Obama or any other Democratic figure, according to the spokesperson.
