Coastal Storm Warning Issued for Charlevoix Region by Environment Canada
Environment Canada has issued a coastal storm warning for the Charlevoix region. Additionally, a coastal flooding warning has been jointly issued by Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Meteorological Service for the Quebec area.
On Thursday morning, water levels are expected to be higher than normal near the coast, as reported by Environment Canada. A depression originating from the Great Lakes will bring strong winds across much of the Capitale-Nationale region.
The combination of these winds and the fact that high tides are currently in effect could cause coastal flooding. The peak of the storm is projected to occur between 6:15 am and 9:15 am on Thursday.
Coastal flooding may be possible along the coastline. These warnings are issued when water levels pose a risk of flooding for coastal regions.
