Coco Jones, the talented actress and singer, is buzzing with excitement for the new season of Bel-Air, which premieres on Peacock this Thursday.

She plays Hilary Banks in this dramatic reboot of the 1990s sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Despite some delays for Season Three, she’s ready to explore her character more deeply.

Jones expressed how grateful the cast feels about returning for a third season. “So many shows would love to be in this position. We’re blessed to have this opportunity,” she shared with Andscape.

Bel-Air has done a fantastic job merging classic elements from the original show while introducing new characters and storylines. For example, Tatyana Ali, who played Ashley Banks in the original series, even made a guest appearance in the first season. The exciting part is that Joseph Marcell, the original Geoffrey, is set to join the cast this season as well.

The actress is also looking forward to releasing her new music. After winning a Grammy for her song ‘ICU‘, which she performed at the 2024 BET Awards, Jones has completed her debut album and is hopeful for a fall release.

When asked about how she merges the original Hilary’s character with her own, Jones emphasized keeping Hilary’s confidence while also tackling her struggles in this new narrative.

This season, Hilary’s wardrobe is evolving too, moving towards more realistic outfits that everyday girls can relate to.

Last season, Hilary broke up with Jazz, and viewers are left wondering if they will rekindle their romance. Jones hinted that we’ll see more of them together, which mirrors real-life relationships where closure can be hard.

If Coco had one piece of advice for Hilary this season, it would be to take some time for self-care. “Go to therapy — are you even okay?” she joked, revisiting some of Hilary’s internal struggles.

Jones also discussed how she balances her acting and music careers. It’s all about knowing what she’s signing up for and making decisions that align with her aspirations.

Reflecting on her journey, she describes this moment in her life as a new chapter. Though her EP was a success, she believes her debut album is where she truly found her voice.

After teasing her fans on social media, she announced her upcoming single ‘Sweep It Up’ is on the way, aiming to blend catchy club beats with her remarkable vocals.
