Cold Front to Bring Rain and Temperature Change to South Florida
South Florida residents are advised to prepare for a change in weather, with meteorologist Sandra Shaw delivering updates on the impending conditions. According to Shaw, a cold front currently extending from Louisiana to Mississippi is expected to progress towards South Florida, bringing widespread moisture and rain.
Forecasts indicate that today will remain dry with partly cloudy skies and temperatures peaking in the lower 80s. However, the situation is set to change by tomorrow, described as an ‘Impact Day,’ with expectations of widespread downpours as the cold front moves through the region.
In anticipation of this weather shift, temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with highs on Thursday reaching only into the 70s. The cooler weather will continue into the weekend, with lows ranging between the 40s and 50s from Friday through Sunday, accompanied by dry and sunny conditions.
Current temperatures in the area vary, with Fort Drum and Okeechobee experiencing cooler conditions at 65 and 62 degrees, respectively, while higher temperatures are present in the Palm Beach area, where the airport recorded 75 degrees, and Highland Beach noted 78 degrees.
