Colombian Artist Feid Lights Up Copa América 2024 Opening Ceremony in Atlanta
In front of a massive crowd, the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa América kicked off in an electrifying fashion on Thursday evening at the iconic Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The opening ceremony was led by the Colombian sensation, Feid, known for his stage name Ferxxo, who graced the field in a black outfit amidst a spectacle of green lighting and music.
Feid’s performance of his hit song, ‘Luna,’ was accompanied by a group of dancers and musicians, setting the stage for a vibrant football extravaganza.
Following Feid’s act, a team of dancers in American flag colors, along with the tournament’s official mascot Capitan, marked the official start of the tournament, with the hologram of the cup adding a modern touch to the event.
The opening ceremony culminated with the flags of the competing teams, namely Argentina and Canada, prominently displayed, as former champion Sergio ‘El Kun’ Agüero, carrying the Conmebol Copa América, heralded the tournament’s commencement.
Prior to the event, Feid had excitedly announced his role at the opening ceremony through a video on social media, promising a sensational kick-off to the continental tournament.
This edition of the tournament features a revamped format with 16 teams, including representatives from both the North American, Central American and Caribbean Football Confederation, and the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol).
The competition, being hosted in various cities across the USA like Las Vegas, Kansas City, Los Angeles, culminates on July 14 in Miami Gardens, FL, where the final showdown will determine the 2024 Copa América champions.
