Colt McCoy Joins NBC Sports Team
Colt McCoy, the two-time Heisman Trophy finalist from the University of Texas and a former NFL quarterback, is set to join NBC Sports as an analyst for Big Ten Football coverage.
McCoy will take on the role of game analyst and will also appear on the Big Ten College Countdown studio show. He’s making his debut in a primetime game on September 7, when the Colorado Buffaloes, coached by Deion Sanders, take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a highly anticipated matchup.
Sam Flood, the Executive Producer and President of NBC Sports Production, shared his enthusiasm for McCoy’s addition, highlighting his experience in major college football games and rivalries.
McCoy expressed his excitement too, saying that college football has always been close to his heart, especially with the Big Ten expanding and entering a new era. He’s thrilled to be part of NBC Sports and can’t wait to share the energy of the games with fans each week.
Before joining NBC, McCoy played for the Arizona Cardinals and has recent experience calling USFL games for NBC Sports. During his impressive college career, he set numerous records, becoming the winningest quarterback in NCAA Division I history.
Along the way, he received several accolades, including being a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2009 and leading the Longhorns to a perfect season and the 2010 BCS National Championship Game.
This season, NBC Sports will feature Big Ten football games every Saturday night, with Peacock also simulstreaming all of NBC’s college football broadcasts, making it an exciting time for college football fans.
