Community Mounts Search Efforts to Locate Missing Woman in Brantford
An extensive community effort is underway to locate 44-year-old Eugenia Da Silva, who has gone missing from Brantford, Ontario. Da Silva was last seen leaving her workplace at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home in Woodstock on Friday. Her sister, Leana Da Silva, who hurried from California upon hearing the news of Jenny’s disappearance, expresses the family’s hopefulness amidst this challenging time.
The Facebook group ‘Bring Eugenia (Jenny) Da Silva Home’ has quickly gained support with over 3,100 members in less than 24 hours. The group has organized a search that spans several regions, including London, Cambridge, Brantford-Brant, Haldimand-Norfolk, and Hamilton to St. Catharines and the Niagara area. The search is set to commence from 9 a.m., mobilizing individuals across various zones to look for Da Silva across public spaces.
Participants in the search are urged to keep an eye out for Da Silva’s black 2009 A6 vehicle and search extensive areas such as public roads, parking areas, parks, and conservation zones. Leana Da Silva notes that her sister’s cellphone last pinged in the Burford or Cathcart area, which is typically part of her route back home to Brantford from Woodstock.
Jenny Da Silva is a married woman with two daughters aged 14 and 11. The family expresses concern as this disappearance is described as highly uncharacteristic of her usual behavior. Distraught by the uncertainty, Leana pleads for any information regarding her sister’s whereabouts. Calls for sightings, photos, or any form of assistance are echoed with a fervent desire to bring Da Silva back home.
Authorities have requested that any individual with information on Jenny Da Silva’s location reach out to the Brantford Police at 519-756-7050.
