Community Rallies To Help Locate Missing Brantford Woman

An upswell of community support is currently underway to assist in locating 44-year-old Jenny Da Silva, a resident of Brantford who has been reported missing.

Jenny was last sighted on Friday afternoon, July 5, leaving her workplace, the Brock and Visser Funeral Home in Woodstock, where Jenny serves in the capacity of a funeral director.

Leana Da Silva, Jenny’s sister, mentioned that she promptly flew in from California once she heard about Jenny’s disappearance last Friday, in an attempt to aid in the search for her missing sister.

The family has been experiencing a mix of emotions over the past six days, with Leana expressing hope that Jenny will be found soon amidst the uncertainty. Leana also conveyed the family’s appreciation for the remarkable support they have received from the community, emphasizing the heartwarming unity displayed by the public in assisting their family.

Friends of Jenny have created a Facebook group named ‘Bring Eugenia (Jenny) Da Silva Home’ and organized a canvas activity slated to commence on Thursday at 9 a.m.

The Facebook group has quickly amassed 3,100 members within a day, encouraging individuals willing to participate in the search effort to register for one of the 13 zones listed on the page, covering regions from London to the Niagara area.

Participants in the search have been advised to scrutinize all public spaces, including roads, streets, parking areas, parks, and conservation zones, for Jenny’s vehicle, a black 2009 A6.

Leana noted that Jenny’s cellphone last pinged on Friday in either the Burford or Cathcart vicinity when she last messaged her daughter, with that area being Jenny’s usual route from work back home to Brantford.

Jenny is a married woman and a mother of two young daughters aged 14 and 11. Leana emphasized how out of character it is for Jenny to suddenly become unreachable, heightening the family’s concern for her safety and well-being while urging anyone who spots her to promptly contact the police.

Brantford Police can be reached at 519-756-7050 by those with information on Jenny’s whereabouts, while individuals can also provide anonymous tips through Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers at 519-750-8477 or 1-800-222-8477.
