Concerns Raised Over Integrity of Rangers vs Enyimba Match Without Live TV Broadcast
News Publisher, Clinton Uba has raised the alarm that the match between Rangers International of Enugu and Enyinna of Aba may be compromised if not televised live.
He advised that the game be postponed if it cannot be run live on TV.
Uba, who is former Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, raised the alarm in an appeal he made to the Nigerian Football Federation and Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
According to Uba, televising the league leader’s match live would ensure that the match would be played under a high level of credibility where no team and its supporters would be intimidated or harassed.
He alleged that officials and fans of Rangers International, led by one popular social media influencer, have been boasting that Rangers has already won the league, even when matches have not been concluded.
Uba noted that televising the encounter live would help to eliminate any doubts about the eventual outcome of the oriental clash.
He urged the President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Abia State Commissioner for Sports and Enyimba Chairman, Kanu Nwankwo and football governing authorities in the country to be vigilant.
