B.C. Couple Found Dead in Boat Washed Ashore on Nova Scotia’s Sable Island
On Wednesday, Nova Scotia‘s Sable Island became the site of a tragic discovery as a small boat washed ashore with two deceased individuals aboard.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) were alerted to the incident by Parks Canada, who found a 10-foot inflatable boat on the island’s coast with the bodies on board.
The deceased are believed to be a 70-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman from British Columbia, who set sail on a larger vessel named Theros.
Reports indicate that the couple went missing on June 18 after departing from Halifax Harbour on June 11, with their destination set for the Azores.
An ongoing investigation is being carried out with support from multiple agencies including Parks Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
