Daisy Edgar-Jones Open to Returning for ‘Normal People’ Sequel
Daisy Edgar-Jones, known for her role as Marianne Sheridan in the popular TV series ‘Normal People,’ has expressed her interest in revisiting her character in a potential sequel. Edgar-Jones starred alongside Paul Mescal, who portrayed Connell Waldron, in the adaption inspired by Sally Rooney’s best-selling novel.
The series, which premiered in 2020 on BBC Three and Hulu, quickly became a hit, propelling the two actors to stardom. Edgar-Jones shared her enthusiasm for the characters, stating, ‘I love those characters. It would be wonderful to explore them again.’
Edgar-Jones has since ventured into film, featuring in movies like ‘Fresh,’ ‘Where the Crawdads Sing,’ and the upcoming ‘Twisters‘ alongside Glen Powell. On the other hand, Mescal received an Oscar nomination for his role in ‘Aftersun’ and is set to star in ‘Gladiator II,’ the sequel to Ridley Scott’s iconic film.
Reflecting on her recent projects, Edgar-Jones commented on starring alongside the ‘men of the moment,’ including Powell in ‘Twisters’ and other successful actors in recent hits like ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ and ‘Hit Man.’
