Dame Laura Kenny to Inspire at Upcoming Networking Lunch
Dame Laura Kenny, who is recognized as the most successful female Olympian from Britain, is set to speak at a special networking event at The Shrewsbury Club during the Lexus W100 Shrewsbury tennis tournament in October.
This exciting event will take place on Thursday, October 17, from noon to 3 pm, and there are only a limited number of tickets available for those interested.
Dame Laura has an impressive medal count of six Olympic medals, which includes five golds and one silver. Her triumphant career also boasts seven World Championships, 14 European Championships, and two Commonwealth Games titles.
Joining Dame Laura at the club will be British entrepreneur Lara Morgan, who made waves in the business world after selling her first company at just 23 for a staggering £20 million. Lara is also known for her athletic achievements, having finished in the top 10 at the World Triathlon Championships.
This networking lunch is sponsored by Aaron & Partners, a legal firm, and WR Partners, which specializes in accounting and business advisory services. The lunch will be hosted by Abigail Johnson, a member of the BBC Radio Five Live tennis commentary team at Grand Slams.
Dave Courteen, managing director of The Shrewsbury Club, expressed excitement about the event, saying, “We always run a wide range of exciting events in our hospitality marquee throughout the week we host the W100 Shrewsbury tournament.”
He added, “The sport and business networking lunch is perfect for professionals looking to connect with others in the business world while enjoying inspirational conversations over great food.”
Dame Laura, who is currently sharing her expertise on cycling during the BBC’s coverage of the Paris Olympics, along with Lara Morgan, is expected to share her incredible journey and insights on achieving success.
Helen Johnson, a partner at Aaron & Partners, highlighted the significance of sponsoring this event, noting, “It’s a privilege to support one of Shropshire’s most anticipated weeks in the sporting calendar.”
Paul Littler, from WR Partners, echoed the sentiment, stating, “We are thrilled to host this networking lunch again, welcoming guests to enjoy a lovely meal and listen to two remarkable speakers.”
Tickets for the event are priced at £35 each or £350 for a table of 10, making it an amazing opportunity to hear from two phenomenal figures during a major tennis tournament. This year’s Lexus W100 Shrewsbury tournament promises to be the biggest women’s tennis event held in the UK aside from the grass court season.
