A Dana Air aircraft with registration number, 5N BKI, flying from Abuja to Lagos on Tuesday morning, veered off the runway while landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The incident occurred due to the wet surface of the runway caused by the morning rain in Lagos.

All 83 passengers and crew members onboard the Dana Airlines flight were unharmed as the aircraft skidded off the runway. The crew handled the situation professionally, ensuring the safe disembarkation of everyone on board.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has deployed investigators to the site of the incident to gather more details about the runway excursion. Dana Air’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kingsley Ezenwa, confirmed that the appropriate authorities have been informed of the situation.

Ezenwa added that the aircraft, registered as 5N BKI, has been grounded by the airline’s maintenance team for further inspection and investigation. The airline expressed gratitude to the airport authorities and the crew for their quick response in managing the aftermath of the incident.

Passengers were commended for their patience and understanding during the event. Dana Air reassured its customers that safety remains a top priority and that they are fully cooperating with relevant agencies to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
