Dancing with the Stars Prepares for Season 33 Semi-Finals
The popular television show «Dancing with the Stars» is approaching its Season 33 Semi-Finals, with five couples vying for the coveted mirrorball trophy. The competition is intensifying as the remaining participants prepare to showcase their final ballroom and Latin dance styles.
Last week, in a significant milestone, the show celebrated its 500th episode. Unfortunately, the night ended with the elimination of basketball star Dwight Howard and his partner Daniella Karagach. Reflecting on his time on the show, Howard expressed gratitude towards his partner, stating, «I had an amazing experience. Daniella is an amazing partner. I’m glad that she was here for me. The show meant so much.»
This week’s semi-finals will open with a performance of Dua Lipa’s «Dance The Night,» choreographed by renowned dancers Sasha Farber and Ezra Sosa. Additionally, audiences will be treated to Tate McRae performing «greedy (Acoustic),» with choreography by Mandy Moore, featuring professional dancers slated for the DWTS LIVE 2025 Tour.
The remaining couples competing in the semi-finals are Danny Amendola with Witney Carson, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, Chandler Kinney alongside Brandon Armstrong, Ilona Maher with Alan Bersten, and Stephen Nedoroscik teamed with Rylee Arnold. Each pair will perform one ballroom and one Latin dance, drawing from styles including the Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Salsa, and Paso Doble.
The show’s format typically sees one couple eliminated during the semi-finals, although last season featured a surprise non-elimination round, allowing all contestants to advance to the finale. This precedent raises the possibility that all five remaining couples could move forward.
«Dancing with the Stars» airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Fans can also stream new episodes the next day on popular platforms like Hulu and Disney+.
