Dave Coulier Faces Cancer Battle with Support from John Stamos
In a show of solidarity and support, John Stamos has publicly demonstrated his backing for his close friend and fellow ‘Full House‘ alumnus, Dave Coulier, amid Coulier’s recent cancer diagnosis. The pair shared a series of images on social media, featuring a touching message from Stamos.
Stamos, who is 61 years old, donned a bald cap for the occasion, demonstrating his support as Coulier, aged 65, revealed his newly shaved head. «Nothing like throwing on a bald cap and flexing some Photoshop skills to show some love and solidarity with my bro,» Stamos wrote alongside the photos, which were shared on Instagram on Monday, November 18.
The images captured the pair in various heartwarming moments — from Stamos assisting Coulier with shaving his head to a candid shot where both Stamos and Melissa Coulier, Dave’s wife, are seen kissing Dave’s head. Stamos conveyed his admiration for Coulier’s strength and positivity during this challenging time.
Coulier revealed his diagnosis of stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma on November 13, following complications from an upper respiratory infection that led to swiftly enlarging lymph nodes. Initially, a lymph node swelled to the size of a golf ball, which prompted further medical testing, including PET and CT scans, as well as a biopsy.
«Three days later, my doctors called and said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and it’s called B cell and it’s very aggressive’,» Coulier recalled. The diagnosis has since ushered him into a fast-paced journey through treatments including surgeries and chemotherapy.
Upon receiving the diagnosis, Coulier reached out to his ‘Full House’ family, which includes cast members John Stamos, Bob Saget, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and series creator Jeff Franklin. Coulier emphasized the immediate support he received, stating, «It was just this outpouring of, ‘I will be there. You just name the time, and I know you’re in great hands with Mel, but what can we do?'»
Coulier, widely known for his role as Uncle Joey in the popular 90s sitcom and its sequel «Fuller House,» shared how the experience has been overwhelming yet heartening, extending gratitude toward his supportive friends and family.
