David Corenswet has been revealed as the new Superman in the upcoming superhero movie helmed by James Gunn and produced by Peter Safran. Set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025, the highly anticipated film will introduce a fresh take on the iconic superhero.

The cast for the movie includes a stellar lineup, with Rachel Brosnahan playing Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl. Additionally, the roster boasts talents like Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, and Anthony Carrigan in various roles.

María Gabriela de Faría joins the ensemble as The Engineer, while Sara Sampaio, Terence Rosemore, Wendell Pierce, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell round out the supporting roles. The film draws inspiration from Grant Morrison’s All-Star Superman comic series, promising a captivating storyline.

James Gunn, the visionary behind the film, envisions a fresh narrative that delves into Superman’s earlier years, showcasing his journey to balance his extraterrestrial origins with his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas. With themes of truth, justice, and the American way at its core, the movie is said to explore Superman’s essence.

In addition to Superman, the movie will introduce other renowned superheroes like Guy Gardner and Angela Spica, also known as The Engineer, a pivotal character from The Authority. This expansion of the DC cinematic universe by Gunn promises to bring a new dimension to the superhero genre.
