Deion Sanders Balances Coaching and Show Hosting with New Tubi Series
Deion Sanders, head coach of the University of Colorado Buffaloes football team, is now also co-hosting a new talk show titled «We Got Time Today» on Tubi, a streaming platform owned by Fox Corporation. This venture comes at a time when Sanders is leading his team in a bid for the College Football Playoff, raising questions about how he manages his time. Rocsi Diaz co-hosts the program alongside Sanders, and the first episode aired on Tuesday night.
During the debut episode, Diaz questioned Sanders on how he balances his duties as a coach with this new role. Sanders explained that hosting the show serves as a strategic extension of his recruiting efforts by reaching potential recruits and their families through a popular streaming platform like Tubi. «This is like a form of recruiting for me,» Sanders said. «Tubi does a wonderful job of reaching all ethnicities. They reach everybody.»
The production details of the show remain under wraps, as Tubi did not respond to inquiries about the filming schedule. However, reports suggest that the show’s recording is integrated into Sanders’ existing commitments in the Denver-Boulder area, minimizing the disruption to his coaching responsibilities.
Sanders, known as a multitasking athlete, continues to build his reputation with the Buffaloes while engaging with broader audiences through media platforms. His past includes notable instances of multitasking, such as playing an NFL game and flying to a baseball game on the same day in 1992.
«We Got Time Today» adds to Sanders’ responsibilities alongside his weekly appearances on two local shows discussing his team. The show aims to present a «lively journey through the realms of news, culture, entertainment, and sports,» according to a Tubi news release. The series kicked off with appearances from personalities like hip-hop icon Ice Cube and former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning.
Manning, in a light-hearted clip from the show, joked about his own talk show hosting experience and offered Sanders some tongue-in-cheek advice should Colorado face Manning’s alma mater, the Tennessee Volunteers, in a future game.
As Sanders and the Colorado team near the end of the regular season, they prepare for their upcoming game against Kansas at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The game will be broadcast on Fox, which is expected to promote «We Got Time Today» during the airing, further leveraging the network’s reach.
Sanders’ innovative approach to coaching and media continues to draw attention not only to his football team but also to his broader personal brand. His methods, which include saving the university money and modern recruiting strategies, have proven successful as the Buffaloes pursue a Big 12 Championship.
