Delhi Cm Arvind Kejriwal's Jail Orders Worry Over Health Dept. Operations

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), has issued a second order from jail concerning the health department, as mentioned by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on March 26.

Sharing details of the order, Delhi health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj confirmed that Kejriwal expressed concern about the healthcare services provided by the state. The CM’s order is to address challenges faced during testing at the Mohalla clinics, indicating a proactive stance despite his current situation.

Reiterating Kejriwal’s priority for the citizens’ well-being, Bharadwaj assured reporters during a press briefing that the CM’s direction aims to positively impact healthcare delivery in Delhi despite his incarceration.

Kejriwal, under ED custody until further notice, issued his first government order regarding the Water Department on March 24, which was under the supervision of senior AAP leader Atishi.

Amid concerns over the CM’s arrest, party supporters plan a protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s residence organized by AAP. The Delhi Police have enhanced security measures to anticipate potential disruptions during the demonstration.

Allegations made by the ED suggest that AAP, along with its key members, pocketed over ₹100 crores in bribes linked to the liquor policy nearly two years ago. The agency contends that AAP unlawfully benefited from the Delhi Liquor policy, further alleging the diversion of funds to finance election campaigns in Goa.

Despite denying the corruption allegations, Kejriwal’s arrest by the ED is tied to purported financial irregularities and money laundering related to the scrapped excise policy, allegedly involving himself and other AAP figures.
