DeMarvion Overshown Shines in Cowboys Defense Amidst Challenging NFL Season
FRISCO, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys defense has found a rising star in linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who has made significant strides in his first full NFL season. Overshown, who recovered from a season-ending ACL injury during his rookie year, has proven vital to the Cowboys with his impressive performance on the field.
«Just trying to get better week in and week out,» Overshown stated. «I feel like there’s always something that you can work on in your game. My game has translated well to the NFL, but it’s all about what can you make better or what can you do better.»
Overshown’s impact is evident as he leads the Cowboys in sacks with four, stands second in tackles with 68, and holds the lead in tackles for loss with three. His speed has become a critical factor in Mike Zimmer’s defensive strategies, notably showcasing his talents with two sacks against Jalen Hurts in a recent game against the Eagles.
The defense gained further strength with the return of Micah Parsons, who resumed play after a high-ankle sprain. Together, the Parsons-Overshown duo has demonstrated the potential to disrupt offensive plays effectively.
«Any player that’s blessed to play with Micah Parsons will see that he keeps a lot of attention to him,» Overshown commented. «And if you’ve got two, three guys blocking one guy, there’s no reason why the other ten shouldn’t be winning their battles. I definitely don’t take that for granted and look at it as an opportunity for me to get mine.»
Despite challenges this season, Overshown remains committed to his performance alongside veteran players such as Eric Kendricks, aiming to leave a lasting positive impact on the team.
«I want the best for them,» Overshown said. «No matter how this season comes to the end, what’s going on with them afterwards, I want this to be a time that they can enjoy.»
Overshown, a Texas native who attended the University of Texas, eagerly anticipates the upcoming «Battle of Texas» against the Houston Texans. He maintains that the Cowboys remain the dominant team in the Lone Star State.
«Even though it’s a down year for us, we still run the state of Texas,» Overshown asserted.
