Denver Broncos’ Cornerback Riley Moss Sustains Knee Injury Against Raiders
Denver Broncos‘ cornerback Riley Moss appeared to have suffered a knee injury during the second quarter of the game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The incident occurred after Moss was involved in a tackle on tight end Brock Bowers. Following the play, Moss left the field with assistance and was subsequently examined in the blue medical tent. Shortly thereafter, he was taken into the locker room just before halftime.
The Broncos have announced that Moss is questionable to return, citing a knee injury. His replacement on the field is Levi Wallace, who stepped in as the No. 2 outside cornerback opposite Pat Surtain. Ja’Quan McMillian continues his role in the slot position. With Kris Abrams-Draine inactive for this game, the Broncos’ depth at cornerback includes reserves Tremon Smith and Damarri Mathis.
Before departing the game, Moss had demonstrated his defensive capabilities, recording four tackles and breaking up one pass. This season, he has proven himself a vital asset to the Broncos’ secondary, accumulating seven pass breakups and one interception.
Moss, a promising talent, was selected by the Broncos in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, having previously earned First-team All-Big Ten honors while playing at Iowa. His ability to perform under pressure has made him an integral part of Denver’s defensive lineup.
Looking ahead, the Broncos are also in the news for another significant development. The team has agreed to move their Week 16 game against the Los Angeles Chargers from Sunday to a Thursday night. This historic scheduling decision marks the Broncos as the first team in 98 years to play two Thursday night road games following a Sunday contest, a feat last accomplished by the 1926 Los Angeles Buccaneers.
The changes to the schedule, although challenging, were accepted by the Broncos, who are coming off a victory in their first Thursday night game of the season against the New Orleans Saints in Week 7.
