MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Denver Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic missed his third consecutive game on Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies due to personal reasons, marking a significant absence for the team. The 7-foot Jokic, who leads the Nuggets in key statistical categories including points (29.7), rebounds (13.7), and assists (11.7), has been a pivotal player for the team.

«I have no idea about Friday,» said Coach Michael Malone regarding Jokic’s potential return for the upcoming home game against Dallas. «Obviously, there’s no news out of Denver. So we will revisit that when we get home,» he remarked in his pregame comments on Tuesday.

During Jokic’s absence, the Nuggets have faced challenges, including losses in their last two games. The team’s struggles were evident in Sunday’s defeat against the Grizzlies, where they were outrebounded, particularly in offensive rebounds. Denver also committed 15 turnovers and had a shooting percentage of 41.7%.

Coach Malone highlighted the need for the team to maintain their playing strategy even without Jokic. «We shouldn’t play in a different way,» Malone commented. «Obviously, you don’t have a three-time MVP. I think we have to play harder. That should be with Nikola or without Nikola. I think we have to play more physical.»

The Denver Nuggets will complete their second game in Memphis before heading back to Denver. There remains uncertainty regarding Jokic’s availability for the following games, leaving fans and the team eager for updates.
