Devotees across India celebrated the auspicious day of Ashadhi Ekadashi with great pomp and devotion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes to the nation on this day, invoking blessings from Lord Vitthal for a society filled with prosperity and joy.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his greetings for the occasion, highlighting the significance of Ashadhi Ekadashi for devotees and wishing for blessings from Shri Vitthal and Rakhumai for happiness and progress.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde marked the day by offering prayers at the Sri Vitthal Rukmini Mata Temple in Pandharpur, a significant site for the festival.

Meanwhile, devotees thronged to the Vitthal temple in Wadala, Mumbai, to offer their prayers and engage in rituals. The festival was also celebrated in Uttar Pradesh, where people took holy dips in the Sangam in Prayagraj.

Ashadhi Ekadashi, also known as Devshayani Ekadashi, holds immense religious importance among Hindus. The day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is believed to enter a deep sleep in the cosmic ocean of Kshir Sagar on this day.
