Dragon’s Jaydn Su’A Expresses Disappointment Over State of Origin Axing
St George Illawarra’s Jaydn Su'A has openly shared his disappointment following his exclusion from the crucial State of Origin decider in Brisbane.
The formidable Dragons player was left out of the squad by Maroons coach Billy Slater, who opted for changes after their defeat against New South Wales in Melbourne.
Su’A, alongside his fellow teammates, faced a forgettable night at the MCG and subsequently lost his position to Kurt Capewell for the must-win clash at Suncorp Stadium.
Reflecting on his controversial omission, Su’A, who showcased his skills in a recent Dragons victory over the Sharks, voiced his disappointment post-game.
‘I was disappointed to be dropped, but that’s just how it goes in the world of sport,’ Su’A expressed. ‘I feel fortunate to have learned from Billy during the last two camps and truly value the experience.’
The Queensland player acknowledged his disappointment, especially for his family, who earnestly supported him through highs and lows. Despite the setback, Su’A remains optimistic about representing the Maroons again in the future.
‘I am confident that I’ll wear the Maroons jersey again. It’s a special team and a dream for young Queenslanders,’ Su’A stated.
He emphasized his motivation coming into the season was to play Origin, and although he achieved it but did not retain his spot, Su’A is focused on improving and aims to regain consistency to earn his place back.
