EasyJet Expands Birmingham Airport Hub with New Route to Hurghada
Low-cost carrier EasyJet is set to bolster its presence at Birmingham Airport by introducing a fresh route to the Egyptian resort town of Hurghada. This strategic move comes on the heels of the airline’s recent additions to its BHX roster, further solidifying its commitment to the Midlands-based hub. The new Hurghada route, slated to commence on November 13, will operate weekly on Wednesdays throughout the winter season.
The expansion marks a significant push by EasyJet at Birmingham Airport, complementing the array of recent routes such as Krakow, Reykjavik, Innsbruck, Prague, and Marrakech. With the inclusion of Hurghada, the airline now offers an impressive total of 33 destinations from Birmingham. Moreover, EasyJet announced that the new route will also feature enticing package holiday deals.
The introduction of the Hurghada route aims to cater to Midlands travelers seeking winter sun getaways, enriching the holiday options available to the local community. Birmingham Airport is gearing up for a busy period, anticipating a substantial influx of 2.1 million passengers during the upcoming six-week summer holiday.
Commenting on the latest route, Tom Screen, the aviation director at Birmingham Airport, expressed enthusiasm, highlighting the success of EasyJet’s base at the airport since its launch earlier this year. On the collaboration, Ali Gayward, EasyJet’s UK country manager, shared the company’s excitement in offering Midlands residents more choices for winter sun vacations, emphasizing the value and variety of EasyJet holidays’ beach resorts.
With the addition of Hurghada to its flight network, EasyJet continues to enhance connectivity for passengers flying out of Birmingham Airport, further strengthening its position as a key player in the travel industry. The airline’s proactive approach in expanding its hub underscores a strategic focus on meeting the diverse travel needs of customers in the Midlands region.
