7-Eleven Celebrates Free Slurpee Day in Texas
Texans have a cool way to beat the summer heat as 7-Eleven gears up to celebrate Free Slurpee Day in the Lone Star state. This annual event, also known as National Slurpee Day, falls on July 11th and marks the 97th anniversary of the popular convenience store chain.
Customers across Texas, where 7-Eleven boasts 1298 stores, can head to participating locations on July 11th to grab a free small Slurpee while supplies last. This tradition, which has been ongoing for almost two decades, extends to Speedway and Stripes stores as well.
7-Eleven patrons can enhance their experience by enrolling in the 7Rewards program, an online point-based system. By joining, they unlock an additional complimentary Slurpee between July 12th and 31st. Moreover, 7Rewards is currently running a Snacks or Sips for a Year promotion, offering chances to win free treats or beverages by specific purchases or app usage.
This year, 7-Eleven has collaborated with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital to elevate Free Slurpee Day. Customers can donate to CMNH while checking out and enjoy their free beverages in cups adorned with the hospital’s design. During the celebration, the limited-time MTN DEW Freedom Fusion flavor will debut alongside the classic Slurpee lineup.
In addition to the refreshing slurpees, Texas stores will showcase special edition treats like Hostess Twinkies with Cherry Slurpee-flavored cream and Drumstick Slurpee Blue Raspberry Vanilla cones. The first 7-Eleven store originated in Dallas in 1927, emerging from the Southland Ice Company‘s ice house roots.
Today, Texas ranks second in the nation for 7-Eleven presence, trailing only California. With 14% of all branches in the state, the Lone Star state remains a key market for the convenience store chain offering a diverse array of products to combat the sweltering Texas temperatures.
