British actress Emma Corrin is set to take on the role of the menacing X-Men villain, Cassandra Nova, in the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine. Nova, known for her psychic abilities and telekinetic powers, is the evil twin sister of Professor Charles Xavier, a key figure in the X-Men universe portrayed by Patrick Stewart.

In the trailers released, viewers get a glimpse of Emma Corrin’s portrayal of Cassandra Nova, showcasing the character’s bald appearance and formidable presence. The movie will bring together Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, facing off against the villainous Nova in what promises to be an action-packed showdown.

Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool & Wolverine marks Cassandra Nova’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, adding her to the roster of iconic X-Men adversaries like Apocalypse and Mister Sinister. Nova, classified as a mummudrai, shares similar psychic powers with her brother Charles Xavier as well as the telekinetic abilities of Jean Grey, one of Xavier’s most gifted students.

Emma Corrin, known for her role as Princess Diana in Netflix‘s The Crown and appearances in My Policeman and Lady Chatterley’s Lover, steps into the shoes of Cassandra Nova, a character infamous for orchestrating the mass murder of 16 million mutants in Genosha. This dark storyline, featuring the genocide in Genosha and the fall of Magneto at Nova’s hand, has been a pivotal moment in X-Men lore.
