Entrepreneur and Fandango Founder Dies from Apparent Suicide in NYC Hotel Fall
The founder of Fandango, J. Michael Cline, tragically passed away after a fatal fall from a luxury hotel in New York City. Cline, 64, was discovered unconscious at The Kimberly Hotel on 145 East 50th Street in Manhattan.
New York City police were alerted to the incident and upon arrival, found Cline with injuries indicative of a fall from a height. Despite efforts, he was declared deceased at the scene around 10:30 a.m.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation, however, no criminal activity is suspected in relation to the incident, as shared by police.
J. Michael Cline, known for his entrepreneurial endeavors, co-founded Fandango in 2000 before parting ways in 2011. The company is presently owned by NBC Universal, the parent company of NBC News.
With an educational background from Cornell University and Harvard Business School, Cline went on to establish several successful ventures including Acumen, Accolade, and Accretive, where he played pivotal roles in management and leadership.
Aside from his business ventures, Cline also served as the chairman of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, expressing a deep commitment to wildlife conservation.
Cline was married to Pamela since 1995 and leaves behind a legacy of six children, as reported in various sources.
