Erika Jayne Discusses Controversial RHOBH Season 14 Involvement
Erika Jayne, a long-standing member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH), is now entering her ninth season, trailing only Kyle Richards in longevity on the show. As the new season begins, Erika finds herself amidst a feud between Richards and Dorit Kemsley, two of her closest friends on the series. Speaking to Deadline ahead of the Season 14 premiere, she discusses her evolving role and her approach to navigating friendships amid drama.
«I feel great,» Jayne shared regarding her milestone season, her tenure on the show now equal to original cast member Lisa Vanderpump. «I’ve enjoyed every year, even when it was hard. It’s given me a lot of opportunity,» she added.
The conflict between Richards and Kemsley poses a unique challenge for Jayne. «I care about these women. They are my friends. They’re going through the worst time in their lives,» Jayne explained, emphasizing her role as a supportive but neutral party. «Ultimately, they have to talk to each other. I can only listen to each of them for so long before they need to talk and work things out,» she said.
The unfolding drama will shed light on long-standing tensions. «Kyle was very upset that Dorit showed me her private text. And Dorit was upset that Kyle sort of brushed their whole friendship off,» Jayne revealed, hinting at deeper issues to be explored in the season.
During BravoCon 2022, Jayne jokingly predicted the potential end of Kemsley’s marriage, a comment that, in retrospect, feels uncomfortable given recent events. «I don’t feel good about that,» she acknowledged, following news of Kemsley’s separation from husband Paul «PK» Kemsley, emphasizing her loyalty to Dorit in the fallout.
Aside from her involvement in RHOBH, Jayne has been exploring other ventures, including podcast appearances and a musical tour. She collaborated with former co-star Teddi Mellencamp on her podcast Two Ts and a Pod, which provided her with a new platform to engage and share her perspectives.
Despite previous seasons’ intense drama, Jayne enjoyed a lighter dynamic in the current season. «I enjoyed the peace and I enjoyed being able to smile more,» she reflected, pointing to the personal liberation she’s found. The season also documents Jayne’s efforts to rebuild her life, including a home renovation symbolizing her fresh start.
When discussing the possibility of former RHOBH star Lisa Rinna returning to the series, Jayne expressed doubt. «No, I don’t think so,» she stated, highlighting Rinna’s ongoing endeavors outside the reality show circuit.
