Erin Andrews Responds to Online Criticism After NFL Game Coverage
Erin Andrews, a seasoned NFL sideline reporter for FOX Sports, recently addressed derogatory comments made about her following her coverage of the San Francisco 49ers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game on November 10. Andrews, who has been with FOX since 2012, became the target of online criticism due to her appearance during the game, which was marked by sweltering temperatures exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
In an emotional video posted on social media, Andrews recounted an incident where a user commented on her «glow,» to which she responded by explaining that it was «called sweat.» «We were outside, like 90 degrees on the field for four hours,» Andrews stated, expressing her frustration at the unsupportive comments she received. A particular remark suggesting she was experiencing «hot flashes» prompted Andrews to fight back, telling the commenter to «shut up.»
Charissa Thompson, Andrews’ co-host on FOX Sports and «Thursday Night Football» on Amazon, supported her colleague. «Don’t worry about those losers, you just keep doing you,» Thompson said, adding that they typically ignore such negativity, though they occasionally feel compelled to respond. «For every 100 bad comments, we may respond to one,» she said.
The incident occurred amid Andrews’ long-standing broadcasting career, which began at ESPN in 2004 and included appearing on «Dancing With The Stars» in 2010. The «Calm Down» podcast, co-hosted by Andrews and Thompson, later captioned a clip of the discussion by condemning the «menopause joke,» expressing further disdain for the inappropriate comments.
