Excessive Heat Warning Issued for the Region
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the region, set to take effect on Monday afternoon.
The warning will be in place starting at 1 p.m. on Monday and is expected to last until 8 p.m. the same day. Forecasts predict temperatures could reach around 93 degrees, with heat indexes rising to approximately 102 degrees.
This warning affects southeastern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa, and west central Wisconsin, prompting residents to take necessary precautions against the heat.
Following the excessive heat on Monday, temperatures are expected to remain high on Tuesday, reaching the mid-80s. However, a gradual drop in temperatures is anticipated as the week progresses, with highs projected to fall into the upper 70s by the end of the week.
