Big news for fans of Emily Henry‘s books! The first casting announcement for the film adaptation of her bestseller ‘People We Meet on Vacation’ was just revealed.

As it turns out, Emily Bader and Blyth are set to play the lead roles. Bader will take on the character of Poppy, while Blyth steps into the shoes of Alex. This film will follow their journey as lifelong best friends who spent every summer together, but suddenly found themselves not speaking for two whole years.

The plot thickens when Poppy reaches out to Alex, hoping to mend their relationship during one last vacation together. But there’s a big question lingering in the air: are they really just friends, or is there something more going on between them?

‘People We Meet on Vacation’ was published in 2021 and made quite the splash, debuting at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list and selling over 2 million copies in the U.S. It seems like Emily Henry has hit the jackpot with this one, winning the Goodreads Choice Award for Romance too!

Brett Haley will be directing the film, while Yulin Kuang is adapting the screenplay. The producing team includes the folks from Temple Hill, namely Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner, with Laura Quicksilver and Erin Siminoff overseeing the project.

Interestingly, this film is being made under a special partnership where Sony Pictures will give Netflix a first look at any films it plans to produce for their streaming service.

Blyth is coming off a successful run as the lead in ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.’ He has also been busy with several other projects recently, while Bader is currently stealing the show in Amazon Prime Video’s ‘My Lady Jane.’

As fans eagerly await more updates, it seems like ‘People We Meet on Vacation’ is shaping up to be a must-see film!
