Rsm Classic 2024 Sea Island

The final round of the RSM Classic, an essential event in the FedExCup Fall series, is poised to deliver an exciting climax as it unfolds at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The tournament has gathered seasoned golfers and rising stars who are all in pursuit of crucial FedExCup points, solidifying their positions for the upcoming PGA Tour season.

Maverick McNealy and Vince Whaley have set a competitive pace, each concluding Saturday’s play at 14-under par. These two players, both in search of their maiden PGA Tour victory, are at the forefront, forming a tie at the top of the leaderboard. Notably, McNealy made headlines earlier in the tournament with an impressive first round of 62.

Close on their heels are four contenders at 12-under: Michael Thorbjornsen, Daniel Berger, Mackenzie Hughes, and Patrick Fishburn. Each is vying for the win and the vital FedExCup points that accompany a strong finish. Amateur Luke Clanton is also a contender, sitting three strokes back at 11-under after carding a score of 68.

The nature of the tournament adds significance to performances, as players are competing not only for tournament victory but for spots in the top 125 of the FedExCup standings. This achievement ensures full playing status for the forthcoming season and gains players entries into the Aon Next 10 (rankings 51-60 in the FedExCup Fall standings), which includes early-season Signature Events in 2025.

Throughout the initial rounds, participants have taken on both the Seaside Course and Plantation Course at Sea Island, but the final rounds are being held solely on the Seaside Course. The final grouping will see McNealy and Whaley joined by Berger, who is contending passionately to secure his standing after returning from a two-season absence.

The decisive final round will be broadcast live on Golf Channel beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, while live streaming will be available through NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports App for those with active cable subscriptions. The schedule of tee times for the final round includes early morning starts, with McNealy, Whaley, and Berger teeing off at 11:06 a.m.

The golf community anticipates a thrilling conclusion to the RSM Classic, eager to see if McNealy or Whaley can claim their first tour victory or if another player will emerge as the champion at Sea Island.
