Great news for fans of the hit series ‘House of the Dragon‘! The show is set to return for a thrilling third season. Even after some mixed reactions to the second season finale, the folks at HBO are all in, giving us more of the battles and drama we love.

‘House of the Dragon’, based on George R. R. Martin‘s ‘Fire & Blood‘, has wrapped up its second season, which started streaming back in June. Although some viewers felt the end was a bit underwhelming without the major battles they were hoping for, there’s a lot of action coming in Season 3!

Showrunner Ryan Condal teased that while Season 2 was about the buildup to war, Season 3 will dive headfirst into the chaos of ‘total war’. So, you might want to buckle up for an action-packed ride.

Although there’s no official release date for the third season yet, it’s expected to start filming in early 2025. Given the timeline from Season 1 to Season 2, we could be looking at a Summer 2026 return. So, fans, hang tight!

In the meantime, there’s another treat for ‘Game of Thrones‘ enthusiasts. A new prequel series, ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘, should air sometime in 2025. This one spins a tale from Martin’s ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’, featuring the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and Prince Aegon Targaryen.

With the storyline moving forward, fans are eager to see characters like Daeron, Alicent’s other son, finally make an appearance in Season 3. His dragon, Tessarion, was even spotted in the Season 2 finale, hinting at his upcoming reveal!
