Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision on Tower Road in Aurora
In Aurora, Colorado, a fatal multi-vehicle accident occurred early Saturday morning, resulting in the death of one individual and the arrest of another. The incident resulted in the temporary closure of northbound Tower Road. Authorities responded promptly to the scene.
Aurora police spokesperson Joe Moylan reported via email that a Jeep, driven by a suspect with an outstanding warrant, was traveling at high speeds when it collided with a Chevy Cobalt. The crash took place at the intersection of Tower Road and 40th Avenue around 7:15 a.m.
Following the collision, the Jeep overturned. Emergency services transported both drivers to nearby hospitals. Tragically, the Chevy’s driver succumbed to their injuries. A third vehicle also encountered damage due to crash debris; however, its driver did not sustain any injuries.
The driver of the Jeep is expected to face charges related to the crash, in addition to being apprehended on the outstanding warrant once discharged from medical care, Moylan confirmed. The Adams and Broomfield Counties Coroner’s Office will be responsible for identifying the deceased victim.
Updates regarding the closure of Tower Road were disseminated through social media, noticing the incident’s sequence started at approximately 8:24 a.m., with subsequent developments reported around 1:49 p.m.
